Garden Coaching

I offer a couple of ways of working through consultation.

Garden Coaching is for anyone who is enthused about doing their own gardening, and would like to learn what to prune when, which seasonal tasks their garden needs, and just generally how to go about it.

Landscape Consultation is for do-it-yourselfers who just need a few tips to get their new garden project moving, have general gardening questions, or need help with a particularly troublesome spot. (And you know what? You don’t actually have to choose between consultation or coaching – we can use our time together to take care of whatever garden questions/ needs you have, so no worries!)

I’ve been featured in The North Coast Journal and The Christian Science Monitor. Check out these links for some insights and ideas on how we can work together:

Garden Coaching

Would you like to feel that special connection that comes from caring for your garden, but don’t yet know the techniques that would allow you to do a really nice job of it?

Or are you an experienced gardener who needs a fresh perspective or would like to learn even more about your plants?

Gardening is a wonderful skill to have and a lot of fun! If you would like to work alongside me in your garden and have me teach you how and when to prune, fertilize, work your soil, and plant, please do give me a call. Most coaching sessions last between two and four hours, and many people hire me seasonally over the course of a year so we can cover each set of gardening tasks at least once.

My rate is $100 for a two-hour coaching session.

Landscape Consultation

Sometimes a professional eye can spot the simple changes that will have the biggest impact. I specialize in helping you see the potential in your landscape and giving you the tips and instruction you need so that your garden project makes the most of your time and money and gets the result you envision.

Depending on the complexity of your garden, in one or more consultations we can:

  • Establish a basic plant palette for your new garden,
  • Develop an action plan for maintaining your garden and making some small improvements that will have a big impact,
  • Work together to figure out new borders for your garden beds and create beautiful focal points,
  • Teach you techniques for pruning and caring for your plants,
  • or I can simply answer your questions and help you clarify your goals for your garden so you can begin truly enjoying it.

If you just need some targeted problem-solving or would like some ideas generated or questions answered, one consultation is often enough. If you would like a little more guidance, I can help you by supervising at the parts which are toughest for you – helping you pick out plants that are well-suited to your site and showing you how to plant them, for example.

Call me today and let’s talk about whether a landscape consultation is right for you.
