We usually start with one or more consultations to talk about what you enjoy and how you’d like to use your landscape. If you are new to gardening but would like to be a part of the design process, we can visit nurseries or browse books together to get a feel for what you like. Then I can craft a plan that takes into account your personal tastes, your family’s needs, and the challenges your site may present.

I love to design in a variety of styles including Tuscan, Japanese, seacoast, or a woodland theme incorporating natives. You may like to attract birds and hummingbirds, use interesting foliage colors and shapes to increase your year-round interest, or choose fragrant plants near walkways and windows.

Don’t worry if you need your garden to be low-maintenance, frost hardy, deer-resistant, shade-loving, or to thrive in tough seacoast conditions. My years of hands-on landscaping experience mean that I am very familiar with what each plant needs and will do here on the North Coast.

Many designers are finished when the plans are complete, leaving you alone to juggle bids, find plants, and make sure it is installed the way you’d envisioned.

I work closely with Soil Seekers Landscape, a licensed landscape contractor, to ensure that your garden is installed with the same loving care that I take with your landscape plan. Of course, I’m always happy to work with you if you want to install your own garden, or work with the contractor of your choice to help you through any hurdles in the installation process – but I’m proud to recommend Soil Seekers Landscape for your installation needs.
